On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, a delegation from the Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary
Federation Western United States visited the Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles, the Honorable
Mr. Bachir Sarkis. The ARF delegation consisted of Daron Der Khachadourian (ARF WUSA Chairman),
Karekin Khanjian and Gaidzak Zeitlian.
The meeting reinforced the longstanding tradition of cooperation between the Consulate and the ARF,
which was established many years ago by the Consul’s predecessors, in the service of Lebanon and its
fruitful Armenian community.
The Consul General and ARF delegation also discussed the current economic and political realities in
Lebanon, the need to keep the Land of Cedars safe from further shocks, and the current tensions in the
Middle East and the region. Special attention was given to the date of the elections to be held on March
27, 2022, which was finalized by the Lebanese Parliament today, along with the details and format of
participation. The Consul General praised the previous cooperation in this field, where the Lebanese-
Armenian Diaspora also participated in such processes.
The ARF delegation also highlighted the tensions in Artsakh, the role played by regional forces in the
conflict, and the just struggle of the resilient and oppressed people in defense of their rights.
The meeting, which lasted about an hour and a half, concluded with the participants reiterating their
continued mutual respect and understanding for one another.
